In 2006,  after the merger of Indian Airlines and its domestic subsidiary Alliance Air with Air India, the freighter services were relaunched. This relaunch was happened by a single Boeing 737-200C aircraft from Indian Airlines and ten passenger aircraft out of which  five were converted into freighters. These all six air crafts were used for domestic routes for Air India Cargo Services.
